Monterez Golf Driving Range – Golf Lessons in Shah Alam
We offer golf lessons at Monterez Golf Driving Range in Shah Alam, Selangor.
Our coaches run private and group sessions at the range, which is open daily from 8.30am to midnight (last ball at 11pm), making it one of the most flexible practice venues in the Klang Valley for students who want to fit lessons around a work schedule.
The range has 30 bays across two storeys, plus a dedicated bunker practice area and practice putting green. That combination means your coach can work on your full swing, bunker shots, and putting all in one session without leaving the venue.
Golf Lesson Options at Monterez
Monterez’s late-night driving range (open daily until midnight) and dedicated bunker and putting practice areas make it one of the most flexible training venues in the Klang Valley. Here is what we offer here.
By Level
Beginner Golf Lessons
New to golf? Our beginner program covers grip, stance, posture, and your first swings in a structured, step-by-step format at the driving range. The bunker practice area and putting green let your coach cover more ground in a single session. No experience required.
Advanced Golf Lessons
Already playing? The bunker and putting facilities make Monterez a good spot for focused short-game work that most driving ranges cannot offer.

Why Learn Golf at Monterez Driving Range
Monterez has a few standout features that make it particularly convenient for golf students.
The driving range opens until midnight.
Most driving ranges in the Klang Valley close by 7pm or 10pm. Monterez stays open until midnight daily (last ball at 11pm), so you can take an evening lesson after work without time pressure.
More than just a driving range.
The bunker practice area and practice putting green let your coach work on chipping, bunker shots, and putting in the same session as your driving range work. Not many venues offer this combination.
Affordable practice.
Range balls are RM15 for 100 balls, which makes regular practice sessions easy on the wallet.
It is close to Subang and Shah Alam.
Monterez sits in Seksyen U9, Shah Alam, just 8.2km from Subang Airport and near the MRT Kwasa Sentral station. If you live or work in Subang, Shah Alam, or the surrounding areas, it is one of the most accessible options.
Frequently Asked Questions About Golf Lessons at Monterez
Is Monterez Golf and Country Club still open?
The Monterez golf course is permanently closed. However, the Monterez Golf Driving Range continues to operate daily from 8.30am to midnight (last ball at 11pm) and is open to the public. Our golf lessons take place at the driving range.
Can I take an evening golf lesson at Monterez after work?
Yes, and this is one of the main reasons students choose Monterez. With the driving range open until midnight, you can comfortably start a lesson at 7pm, 8pm, or even later. Most other ranges in the Klang Valley close well before that.
Can my coach work on bunker shots and putting during a driving range lesson?
Yes. Monterez has a dedicated bunker practice area and a practice putting green next to the driving range. Your coach can move between all three during a single session, which is not something every venue offers.
How much do range balls cost at Monterez?
Range balls are approximately RM15 for 100 balls, paid directly to the driving range. This is separate from the golf lesson fee. Contact the driving range directly to confirm the latest pricing.
Are there any days the driving range is closed?
The driving range is open every day. There is a maintenance window on Monday mornings, but outside that it operates daily from 8.30am to midnight.
How do lessons at Monterez compare to other Shah Alam venues?
The main differences are the late-night range hours (most venues close by 7pm or 10pm), the bunker and putting practice facilities (not all venues have these), and the affordable ball rates. If flexibility and variety in your practice are important, Monterez has the edge.
