Why Learn Golf at KGSAAS
KGSAAS has several features that make it a practical venue for golf students, not just experienced club golfers.
Night golf when you are ready for it.
KGSAAS is one of the few courses in Shah Alam where you can play a round after dark. The course is open daily until 10pm, which means your first on-course experience does not have to compete with a packed weekend morning tee sheet.
Three 9-hole courses to progress through.
Instead of one 18-hole layout, KGSAAS has three separate 9-hole courses: Sultan, Alam Shah, and President. For a student, that means your coach can pick the layout that best matches your current level, and you can play a shorter 9-hole round as you build up to a full 18.
A driving range with a practice putting green.
The 22-bay driving range is where most lessons happen, and the adjacent practice putting green lets your coach work on your short game in the same session without moving to the course.

Do I need a membership to take golf lessons at KGSAAS?
No. Our lessons at the driving range are open to the public. A membership is not required, though members benefit from discounted green fees when they progress to on-course play.
Which of the three courses is best for a beginner's first on-course round?
Your coach will choose the layout that best suits your level. The three 9-hole courses (Sultan, Alam Shah, and President) each have a slightly different character, and playing just 9 holes is a much gentler introduction to on-course golf than jumping into a full 18-hole round at another club.
Can I combine a golf lesson with a night golf round?
Yes. Since the course stays open until 10pm daily, your coach can run a driving range session followed by a short 9-hole round under lights in the same evening. This is a good way to transition from range practice to real course play.
Does KGSAAS offer senior rates?
Yes. The club offers a discounted rate of RM123.05 nett for seniors (55 and above), available every Thursday and Friday morning (excluding public holidays). The 9-hole format is also less physically demanding than a full 18, which many senior students prefer. The same rate applies to juniors (below 18) and ladies.
Is KGSAAS accessible by public transport?
Yes. Glenmarie LRT station and Batu Tiga KTM station (Port Klang Line) are both nearby. Several bus routes also serve Seksyen 13, including the 705, T774, T753, and SA02. It is one of the more public-transport-friendly golf clubs in Shah Alam.
How far in advance should I book a lesson at KGSAAS?
A few days ahead is usually enough for weekday sessions. Weekend slots can fill up faster, so we recommend booking those earlier in the week. WhatsApp us and we will find a time that works.
Does KGSAAS offer walking golf?
Yes. A 9-hole walking golf option is available on Monday and Tuesday mornings (not on public holidays or during tournaments). You will need a valid WHS handicap to play. Tee times are limited to three early morning slots and must be booked through the Qi-Soft app. This is a course option, not a lesson format, but your coach can advise you when you are ready for it.
